It's that time again! We need your help. With the last donation drive back in November, we were able to pay for the months of Nov, Dec, and Jan. Now we need to get through spring. I am hoping that we can collect around $600 and that way there we can be paid off until the month of June. We pay 5 of our servers every month for $28.48 for each one. So that is around $143 a month for the servers. However that is not including the ventrilo server, web hosting, or HLstatsx. I am paying for those services out of my pocket. Also the 2fort server is paid every 6 months so we do not have worry about that till June. So all we have to worry about now our the 5 game servers.

So if you appreciate not only what we do for this community, but what this community stands for, what our mods and admins do, and heck, what our community members do, please donate to the site. So everyone please, if you can donate, by all means donate. Any amount helps! You can donate now and all money collected will be used for the following months ahead. I will keep everyone updated on our goal throughout the next month.

The 24/7 Fastlane server now has HLstatsX installed. I decided to install it so that the regulars could have something to track their gameplay. It really wasn't fair just having 2fort and rotation with stats and leaving fastlane in the dark. The stats are now working, so your points and rank will now be carried over when you play on Fastlane.

I also went ahead and installed a vote team scrambler plugin. Once a round is over with, a vote should come up and ask the players if they would like the teams to be scrambled. This is in test stages and we are not sure if we are going to keep it or not. We are hoping that this will keep the teams more balanced.

If you think you're better than Valve at creating Team Fortress 2 items, materials and avatars then you aren't alone. Valve themselves have come right out to say that they think a lot of the community created work is better than things they could come up with and it is on that point that they have created the Team Fortress 2 Contribution page.

In exchange for your silence, we are now accepting submissions for fan-designed TF2 items and avatars, immortalizing you in the Team Fortress 2 pantheon forever while keeping our jobs safe. Pending approval, your item will get added to your backpack, and cycled into the random item drops in-game. Blow up stuff using a weapon you created! Kill an enemy, then let him know he died in a hat you designed! Weapons, hats, avatars -- designed by you, used by the entire TF2 community.

Obviously there are some limitations to the submitted content. Nothing offensive may be submitted and only select file formats will be allowed. The community created content will have an image gallery set up for the entire world to see.

Its time for some news! Things have been going pretty smooth for us, since the start of the new year. We have added some new admins to the servers and they have been doing a great job for us. I would like to thank all the admins for their time and effort that they have put in here at BG to help us have clean servers. The server admin sticky in the forums has been updated. The 24/7 Anzio server turned out to be a huge success. The server was originally a rotation map server until the numbers started to fall down and we decided to give Anzio a try and revive the server. The server is currently ranked 4th and has an average of 25 players. If you haven't already played on the server, then go ahead and give it a try. Anzio is a small, fast-paced map in which the Allies launch their attack from the beach. The main square and bridge are critical points for ensuring conquest of the town.

We have decided to throw cp_gorge into the 24/7 Payload/Control Point server. This map will be replacing fastlane. There is no point to keep fastlane in the rotation when we have a 24/7 Fastlane server. We will play test gorge for the next week and get some feedback from the players, then we will make a final call to keep it or not.
